Science Show
The P3-7 children travelled to the Navan Centre, Armagh for a morning of science. Classes rotated around three activities. During one session the children explored chemistry and the Celts. They extracted Iron and used it to make a coin. They used red cabbage water to detect acids and bases. They made soap and learned about the healing power of honey. They were more than a little surprised to learn about the Celts’ many uses of urine. During another session they carried out some experiments to discover facts about aerodynamics. In the final session they enjoyed experiments which encouraged them to think about pressure, density and refraction. They was much agreement that this was a fun start to the school week.
